The E stands for European, as although Yamaha produce pianos in Japan, the SE series uses European materials for much of the instrument, and it is voiced for a softer, mellower European tone. A soundboard crafted from carefully selected high-grade European spruce ensures a bright, clear tone with long sustain. Top-Grade Strings Extremely hard and smooth treble strings provide optimal sustain and overtones.
