Our Adjudicators: Yukiko Shinohara


Yukiko Shinohara is a Japanese pianist, graduated from Goldsmith’s College University of London(BMus) and from Trinity College of Music, London(Post Graduate Advanced Diploma in Performance in Distinction and Master of Music in Performance Studies.)

Whilst her study she had her solo recital debut at South Bank Centre, as a Park Lane Group Young Artist. Since then she has won numerous prizes in her native Japan and performed in international summer festivals including Darmstadt, Salzburg, Nice and Aldeburgh.

In London she performed in major venues such as St.Martin in the fields, St. James Piccadilly, St.John’s Smith Square, King’s Place and more recently she finished her successful solo recitals at The Forge, Camden and St.George’s, Bristol.

She combines her busy schedule of giving concerts both as a soloist and chamber musician in U.K, Europe, Japan, and on cruise ships all over the world, with working as a staff accompanist Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Yukiko is an experienced piano teacher of 15 years, having taught all levels both privately and in schools.

Last year, she recorded a CD with the clarinettist Joanne Rozario, for the new Trinity College London grade exam syllabus pieces for clarinet.
