Yamaha’s TransAcoustic™ range is a new breed of piano which at its most basic level turns the soundboard into a loudspeaker, meaning any sound can be delivered through this naturally resonant piano component. The GC1TA is based on Yamaha’s popular GC1 Grand Piano, and boasts the powerful addition of the TransAcoustic™ digital technology.

The Yamaha TransAcoustic GC1 TA2 Grand Piano is first and foremost an acoustic piano with all the benefits you expect from Yamaha, plus Yamaha’s advanced TransAcoustic and SILENT Piano™ system technology.
Nearly all components are produced in house, with guaranteed high-level playability, long-lasting durability and a beautiful sound when the hammers strike the strings. Constructed in Yamaha’s Kakegawa factory in Japan, the build quality retains Yamaha’s renowned excellence. Being a grand piano not an upright, the SILENT piano™ system boasts an even better tone and replication than other TransAcoustic™ pianos. Furthermore, Thanks to the TransAcoustic’s SILENT piano™ SH technology, you have the choice of playing using only digital tones, purely acoustic sounds, or any combination of the two.
Sounds played through speakers often sound confined due to the size of the speaker itself, but Yamaha’s TransAcoustic™ system turns the whole piano into that loudspeaker, thus generating a much larger and richer sound. The GC1 TA2 also features a simple MIDI song recorder including a metronome that you can adapt to any time signature, as well as song storage/playback via a connected USB drive. Note that the Yamaha TransAcoustic GC1 TA2 Grand Piano is not a Disklavier piano, so MIDI songs will play only the digital sounds as opposed to triggering the real piano action. With the option of 19 instrument voices and the ability to play along with backing tracks, the GC1 TA2 is fantastic for developing pianist as wells the more advanced. The GC1 TA2 also features a USB audio recorder, allowing you to record your performances, and is also iPad compatible. Finally, not only can the GC1 TA2 pass along external audio (from a 1/8″ stereo input) to the soundboard, but it can fine-tune that audio up to a half-step in either direction. Do tracks you’d like to play along with from your iPod sound a bit sharp or flat relative to the piano? Not a problem.
As part of a limited offer, you can get Premium Flowkey App for free with your new Yamaha Digital Piano.
The Yamaha TransAcoustic GC1 TA2 Grand Piano is a serious piano with impressive but also versatile features to last a lifetime of playing, an instrument of advanced design, beautiful construction, and powerful technology.
Features
101cm Grand Piano with solid soundboard, 3 pedals including celeste and soft closing keyboard fall.
There are times when the full sound of an acoustic piano may not be appreciated by your family or neighbours. For these situations, simply activate the TransAcoustic™ function and the hammers will no longer strike the strings. Non-contact sensors under each individual key detect your keystroke depth, velocity and timing and send this information to the tone generator. Just adjust the volume and hear the digital sound of your piano performance coming from the entire instrument.
In addition to a sampled CFX Concert Grand, offers 19 pre-installed sounds. Additionally, you can connect any external sound source to be played back through the soundboard. You can also combine the CFX concert grand piano sample with the piano’s own acoustic sound to give it more power and depth.
Yamaha’s SILENT Piano™ technology allows you to listen, learn and play without being disturbed or disturbing others. Due to the GC1 TA2 binaurally recreating the sound, presence and resonance of a Yamaha CFX Concert Grand the player’s sound quality is not affected through headphones.
You can use the USB port to playback .wav-files or use the AUX-IN jack to connect an external music player.
iPad compatible.
