This fantastic Antique John Broadwood & Sons Baby Grand Piano was manufactured by John Broadwood & Sons between 1892 – 1894. It has been lovingly rebuilt by our team, with the aim of maintaining the maximum amount of the original components and internal mechanism.
First the soundboard has been rebuilt and the strings are all new. We have also installed new tuning pins and new damper felts. The iron frame has been re-bronzed, future-proofing it for years to come. New hammer heads have been installed, in addition to new shanks and flanges. Inside the mechanism, new leathers and cushions have been fitted. The outer casing has been treated, and the mechanism has undergone a complete and thorough service. Furthermore, the piano’s two original wooden pedals have had their mechanism serviced and treated.
Another fascinating feature of this John Broadwood & Sons Grand Piano is the classic style candle holders that fold out from atop the keyboard. The piano possesses a medium classical to bright sound, but the tone of the piano can be adjusted by our in-house team to suit your preference.
