Our Adjudicators: Ken Virgin


Ken Virgin has taught piano for many years to a wide variety of pupils at all grade levels and ages, both privately and in schools. He holds his teaching qualification from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music with excellence. He has seen many of his pupils achieve high success in their exams, competitions, with some achieving prestigious music scholarships. Those who have been taught by him, speak of his enthusiasm and passion for teaching the piano. He instils the technical abilities to enable pupils to express themselves musically to their full potential. Ken has also worked with Sally Kancheva, his fellow adjudicator and colleague, in well received chamber music projects. Other current Chamber Music projects include a Piano Trio collaboration with students at Trinity Laban Academy Greenwich London. He is also a composer and arranger of music, and teaches jazz piano and improvisation with great enthusiasm, bringing a sense of fun to piano playing in this field, and is currently working with several school bands.
